The Nicaragua
Cigar Trip.
Tobacco like you've never experienced it. Nine years on the ground in Estelí, thirty-three years in cigars, and the only host on the island whose home address is the cigar capital of the world. Every trip is custom-built. No two are the same.
What's on the menu.
Trips aren't published itineraries — they're built around your project, your group, and the way you actually want to travel. Here's what's available, in any combination:
Cigar Factories
The working floors of the partner factories that fit your run. Watch your cigar get rolled. Talk to the torcedores. Smell the aging rooms.
Tobacco Education
Field, ferment, and roll — taught the way nine years on the ground lets us teach it. Most brand founders never see this depth.
Restaurants & Coffee
The best tables and the best cups in Estelí and beyond. We've spent the better part of a decade finding the ones worth the seat.
Lounges & Cigars
Long dinners, late nights, leather chairs. Where the brand idea you arrived with becomes the brand you fly home with.
Adventure (Optional)
Volcanoes, rivers, valleys, lakes. If you travel to do, we'll build the days that match. Beside the cigar work — never instead.
Eight seats. Your dates.
- Group size: capped at 8. Any combination — 1×8, 2×4, 8×1.
- Sharing trips means group savings — the first booker can open seats to other clients building the same kind of thing.
- Trip types are never mixed — Retailer Trips and Brand Builder Trips run on separate departures.
- Custom dates — every trip is scheduled around the client.
- From Managua (MGA) — internal transfers handled.
- Hosted personally by The Mule — Estelí-based since 2017.
A note on rainy season.
We strongly recommend not scheduling a trip from mid-May through end of August. The weather gets bad enough to interfere with the field portions. We can still host you in those months if your calendar requires it — we'll just be honest about what we can and can't show you.
Common questions.
Do I have to come to Nicaragua?
No. Both client tracks (Retailer and Brand Builder) are also offered as a Virtual Build. Same finished cigar, same 12-week timeline. The trip is recommended because we move faster and connect deeper in person — but it is never required.
How long is a typical trip?
Most run 4–6 days. Custom-built around your goals.
What's included?
Lodging, meals, transfers, hosting by The Mule, factory access, and the obvious: cigars. Discussed in detail on the discovery call once we know the shape of your trip.
What's the cost?
Custom per trip. Sharing the trip with other clients meaningfully reduces per-person cost. Pricing scoped on the discovery call.
Pack a bag.
One hour by video. Tell us when you'd want to come, what you want to see, and who you'd want to bring. We'll build the trip.
